It’s official. Children should start to learn a second language before the age of three to take best advantage of their natural linguistic abilities.
Scientists gathering for discussions into second language acquisition in June 2010 at the German Center for Research and Innovation in New York confirmed the findings of their research:
Children should start learning an additional language “no later than age three.”
The conclusion is no surprise. Research has been testing the language functions of the young brain for nearly a decade and all the results point in this direction.
Now we can also explain why and how language acquisition happens.
